Lady cop found dead inside home in Cavite

A lady police staff sergeant was found dead inside a house in General Trias City, police said Tuesday.


In a report, the victim was identified as Police Staff Sergeant Analyn  Rico, 33, assigned at PNP regional health service and a resident of Stateland hills Subd, Brgy. Mangghan, Gen. Trias City.


Initial investigation showed the victim had an argument with her husband identified as Ricky Rico, 26, a patrolman assigned with the Maritime Group.


"They were having verbal argument, because the victim was allegedly being jealous with her husband’s classmate, a fellow police officer after the husband went to update his (records) to apply for promotion," said Police Staff Sergeant Armine Matro, officer-on-case


She said, quoting Patrolman Rico, he "was about to leave their house early because he was going to commute heading to their barracks when he saw the victim went inside their room and he subsequently heard a gunshot emanating from their room".


"He rushed to the room and saw his wife sprawled on the floor bloodied. He also saw his wife’s gun on their bed then he shouted for help to take his wife to the hospital," she added.


Matro said the victim was declared dead at City of General City Doctors Hospital around 8:01 am.


"Since the avenue of foul play is not being discarded, the husband of the victim (Patroman Rico) will be subjected for paraffin examination to include ballistics examination of the couple’s issued firearms," she said. Robina Asido/DMS
