Lady police officer arrested for alleged extortion and robbery near Camp Crame
December 15, 2018
A lady police officer was arrested in an entrapment operation near the Philippine National Police (PNP) headquarters in Quezon City on Friday.
SPO1 May Ann Malcontento was nabbed after receiving a P34,000 worth Louis Vuitton bag, wristwatch worth P2,999 and a total of P50,000 boodle and marked money.
According to an initial report by the PNP Counter Intelligence Task Force (CITF), an entrapment operation was conducted at 5:40 pm along Boni Serrano Avenue after a complainant, formerly arrested for estafa and a dismissed illegal recruitment case, constantly received phone calls from Malcontento.
The complainant said Malcontento was allegedly demanding for the Louis Vuitton bag, wristwatch and money in exchange of "not being harassed or subjected again for entrapment operation by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)."
The police officer is under CITF's custody and will face charges for robbery and extortion. Cristina Eloisa Baclig/DMS
