Late buying lifts PSE index

The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index ended Friday higher, boosted by buying in the final hour of trading.
The peso closed at P52.065 against the US dollar from Thursday's P52.13. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines was $961.87 million from $1.234 billion on the previous day.
The index finished at 7,962.13 points, up 30.83 points. In the broader market, there were 97 decliners, 89 gainers while 54 shares were unchanged.
Volume amounted to 1.51 billion shares worth P8.01 billion from Thursday's 804.06 million valued at P7.0 billion.
Most traded shares were led by Vista Land, up 2.88 percent to P7.50; BPI, down. 3.26 percent to P86.05, 8990 Holdings, down 2.73 percent to P12.10 and Ayala Land, up 1.14 percent to P44.50. DMS
