Lorenzana visits Chinese Coast Guard ship

Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana visited the China Coast Guard (CCG) vessel docked in Manila on Wednesday afternoon.
Lorenzana was accompanied by Philippine Coast Guard Commandant (PCG) Admiral Joel Garcia and other PCG officials during a tour inside the 102- meter CCG vessel 5204.
After the tour, Lorenzana and Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Huang Xilian joined the bilateral talk between the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and the China Coast Guard (CCG).
"During the meeting, Garcia discussed the anti-piracy and anti-terrorism efforts of the PCG in the ZamBaSulTa region (Zamboanga Peninsula Region, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi)," the PCG said.
According to PCG, the tour onboard the CCG vessel was made after the joint maritime exercise in Manila Bay Wednesday morning.
The CCG vessel which arrived in Manila on Jan 13 is set to remain in the country until Jan. 17.
The PCG and CCG are scheduled to conduct a passing exercise before the vessel leave the Philippine waters on Friday. Robina Asido/DMS
