LRT-1 resumes operations after six hours after glitches hit two stations
October 3, 2019
The Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) on Thursday suspended operations after nearly seven hours after two stations suffered glitches.
''Update as of 1350H, We are now fully operational from Roosevelt to Baclaran station. Thank you for your patience and understanding," LRT-1 said in its Twitter account.
Operations on Roosevelt and Balintawak stations of LRT-1 were suspended around 7 am due to "mechanical issues."
"The LRT-1 operations will be limited to Yamaha Monumento going to Baclaran and vice versa. Our service in Roosevelt station is currently experiencing mechanical issues and is now being checked by our technicians onsite. We would like to sincerely apologize for the inconvenience," LRT-1 management announced.
In a post at 8:30 am, LRT-1 explained that the Balintawak and Roosevelt stations will remain inaccessible to riding public "until further notice."
"Our Balintawak and Roosevelt stations will be closed until further notice due to extended servicing needed for the mechanical issue we encountered this morning. We request our passengers to have an alternative plan," the post read.
"Rest assured we are doing our best to finish the repair in the soonest possible time and update everyone. We apologize again for the inconvenience," it added. Cristina Eloisa Baclig/DMS
