Magnitude 5.5 quake hits Surigao del Norte: Phivolcs

A magnitude 5.5 quake jolted Surigao del Norte Friday afternoon.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the tremor was recorded around 1:26 pm with its center located at 70 kilometers southeast of General Luna.
The tectonic quake had a depth of 11 kilometers.
Intensity II was reported in Surigao City and Ginoog City.
Phivolcs expects aftershocks but added it will not cause any damage in the affected areas. Cristina Eloisa Baclig/DMS
