Makati police rescues 10 women from alleged prostitution

Makati police rescued 19 women who are victims of alleged prostitution in separate operations on Thursday evening.
Police Colonel Rogelio Simon, Makati police chief, said the first operation was conducted inside a bar at Barangay Palanan where 12 Filipinas were rescued around 10:50 pm after a police officer acted as a customer.
Also arrested was the maintainer of the establishment who received the money from the cop.
The second operation was conducted at a residential area in the same barangay which resulted in the rescue of seven women and arrest of six persons, including two caretakers.
The arrested suspects said they are only helpers in the establishments. They said they have no idea it is an illegal business.
The arrested customers will be held under police custody for further investigation.
The maintaner and two caretakers of these establishments will face charges for violating the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act. Ella Dionisio/DMS
