Marine killed, three wounded in clash with alleged NPAs in Palawan

A Marine was killed while three others were wounded in a 10-minute clash with alleged New People's Army (NPA) members in Palawan on Monday.
Capt. Orchelyn Bobis, spokesperson of the 3rd Marine Brigade, said the Marine Battalion Landing Team 3 (MBLT-3) encountered the armed men in the vicinity of Sitio Ibangley, Abungan, Taytay municipality around 3:30 pm.
The slain soldier was identified as Pfc. Christian Priela Cuarto from Camarines Sur while wounded were Corporal Remuel Redondo, Private First Class Marlon Escobar Jr., and Corporal Charlie Carorocan.
Based on initial report, the rebels fled after the clash. Government forces are pursuing them, it added. Robina Asido/DMS
