Medialdea leads Rizal Day ceremonies in Luneta

Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea led the Rizal Day ceremony in Manila on Monday.
The flag raising and wreath-laying ceremonies at the Rizal National Monument in Luneta Park was held as part of the commemoration of the 123rd anniversary of the martyrdom of Dr. Jose Rizal.
The event was also attended by Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso, Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, Presidential Peace Adviser Carlito Galvez, Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant Admiral Joel Garcia and other government, defense and military officials.
The commemorative activities was also replicated at the Rizal Shrine in Calamba, Laguna; Davao City and Dapitan City in Zamboanga del Norte.
The Manila Symphony Orchestra will also perform a concert at Rizal Park in Manila around 6 pm of the same day.
According to the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) a light and sound presentation, a guided tour which started since Dec. 28 at Rizal Park will last until Monday. Robina Asido/DMS
