Metrobank Binondo branch robbed, Moreno offers P1 million reward
July 11, 2019
Metrobank's Binondo branch was robbed Thursday morning but a police report or a statement by Manila Mayor Isko Moreno did not say how much was stolen.
According to a police report, at least seven unidentified armed men broke into Metrobank Binondo branch along Sto. Cristo Street, corner Recto Avenue, about 8:40 am.
In an ambush interview by with Moreno, he said there was one employee inside the bank when the robbery happened.
"There is a possibility that some money were stolen. This bank just opened around 9 (in the morning)," Moreno explained.
Moreno offered a P1 million reward for any information which will lead to the arrest of the suspects.
"I am now offering one million pesos for the arrest of these at least seven suspects, which also took the CCTV of the bank. But as per information, the Manila Police District has a copy of the CCTV from the barangay," he declared.
Moreno warned suspects and other criminals that they will be tracked down.
"Again, you cannot escape the long arm of the law, just like how the saying goes. We will try to do that and go after (them). To all enforcement units in the country, I call for your help, chase these people, catch them," he added.
Police said the incident is under investigation. Cristina Eloisa Baclig/DMS
