Military discover guns and explosives from alleged NPA camp in Compostela Valley

The military discovered guns and explosives from an alleged camp of the New People's Army ( NPA) in Compostela Valley province on Sunday.
1st Lt. Jhocell Asis, civil military operations officer of the 7th Infantry Battalion, said the encampment was discovered in the vicinity of Sitio Babasal, Brgy Manipongol, Maco.
She said troops were conducting combat patrol in response to reported presence of rebels when the NPA camp was discovered.
Asis said soldiers recovered one cal .38 with 13 live ammunition, two improvised shotguns with four ammunition, two cal .22 rifle, 13 live ammunition of Ctg 5.56 mm, 16 live ammunition of 7.62 mm, one improvised explosive device), 12 pieces high explosives blasting caps, two magazines of M16, three magazines of Cal .45, one magazine of 9 mm with six live ammunition, one set of detonating battery, four 1.5V dry cell battery, 17 bottles of butane, one analogue multi-tester and one chainsaw.
"The enemy encampment and recovered items believed to be owned by Weakened Guerilla Front 2 (WGF 2), Sub Regional Command 2 (SRC 2), Southern Mindanao Regional Command (SMRC)," she said.
