Military, police support PopCom proposal for no-scalpel vesectomy

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) support the initiatives of the Population Commission (PopCom) to increase male participation in family planning.y
“Yes, we support this endeavor. Although it will be in a voluntary basis, but if it will help the government to promote family planning, the AFP is willing to support this timely and relevant move of the government,” said Col. Noel Detoyato, AFP public affairs chief Friday.
Police Senior Supt Bernard Banac, PNP spokesman, said they encourage their personnel to undergo the no-scalpel vasectomy.
“Yes, the PNP supports the family planning program of the government to increase the level of awareness on its benefits and encourage involvement among personnel,” he said.
The AFP and PNP has expressed their support after the Population Commission plans to introduce no-scalpel vasectomy among men in uniform, including police, military, firemen and others.
