MNLF helping military recover doctor abducted by Abu Sayyaf

ZAMBOANGA CITY - The Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom) said the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) will help them locate a doctor seized by the Abu Sayyaf bandits nearly weeks ago in Sulu.
Maj. Arvin John Encinas, Westmincom spokesperson, said they welcome any assistance from all stakeholders to resolve the abduction of Daniel Moreno.
The Abu Sayyaf seized Moreno on February 4 from his clinic in Barangay Walled City, Jolo.
Encinas said the military will not allow or sanction any rescue operation that will be launched by the MNLF.
MNLF Central Committee chairperson Yusop Jikiri said they have created an anti-kidnapping and anti-terrorism task force to locate Moreno and pave the way for the military to launch rescue operation.
“What the front is working hard now is to locate Dr. Moreno and identify the group holding him captive,” Jikiri said.
Encinas said there is no ransom demand yet from the Abu Sayyaf bandits.
Encinas said Moreno is still in Sulu but Jikiri said they have not monitored Moreno's presence there. DMS
