MNLF member, uncle arrested in Quezon City buy-bust

Two illegal drug suspects including an active member of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) were arrested in a buy bust operation in Quezon City on Friday night.

Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director Police Brigadier General Joselito Esquivel Jr. identified the suspects as Bismar Sabtula Nadduha, alias Best, 25, an MNLF member, and his uncle Jinsir Abduhaddi Jhol, 40, both residents of Brgy. Holy Spirit, Quezon City.

Esquivel said the arrest of the two suspects was an offshoot from an anti-drug operation last Wednesday at Brgy. Old Balara of the same city where two arrested suspects named Nadduha and Jhol as their source of illegal drugs.

“They were charged with violation of RA 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002,” Senior Supt. Rohaina Asalan, QCPD spokesperson, said.

She said that over P1-million worth of illegal drugs were recovered from the possession of the suspects during the operation.

“A police poseur buyer bought Php50,000.00 worth of shabu from the suspects which resulted in their arrest and seizure of about 150 grams of shabu with estimated street value of Php1,020,000.00,” said Asalan.

“The suspects revealed that the illegal drugs came all the way from Southeast Asian country through an illegal backdoor channel in the South,” she said.

“They likewise identified their source who is now the subject of a possible manhunt in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA). Accordingly, their source was responsible in the shipment of the contraband from Zamboanga to Metro Manila including Quezon City,” she added. Robina Asido/DMS
