Mountain Province’s “Lang-ay” festival cancelled

BAGUIO CITY – Organizers of the “Lang-ay” Festival in Mountain Province has decided to cancel the festival, still citing the threat of COVID 19.
“Lang-ay”, which means “coming together as a community” is on its 16th year staging.
A meeting and consultation was held at the Bontoc Provincial Capitol for the Festival where organizers also took note of other towns in the province which cancelled or toned down their town festivals in lieu of the COVID-19 scare.
The Provincial Health Board, headed by Governor Bonifacio Lacwasan ,earlier recommended that the festival be cancelled.
Though the Mountain Province Public Information Office, the celebration of the Mt. Province Foundation Day will push through.
The Department of Health (DOH) Cordillera announced that the Cordillera Region is still COVID-19 free. DMS
