National Invention Contest and Exhibits set March 3-5 in Taguig

The National Invention Contest and Exhibits (NICE) is set for March 3-5 at the SMX Convention Center Aura, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig
It is a biennial activity which recognizes the best efforts and indispensability of local inventors, innovators, researches including the students, as contributors to national economic development.
The contestants for the NICE 2020 are regional winners of the Regional Invention Contest and Exhibits (RICE) conducted in 2019.
RICE was conducted in different regions throughout the country and served as the qualifying round for the NICE.
Carrying the theme, “Science for the People: Inventions and Innovations for Sustainable Development,” NICE 2020 focuses on inventions and innovations for sustainable development which is in line with the theme of National Science and Technology Week in 2019.
That 2019 event highlighted breakthroughs of science and technology in the Philippines which help meet the Sustainable Development Goals identified by the United Nations.
All NICE 2020 winners will receive cash prizes, plaque, and certificates of recognition from DOST-TAPI ( Department of Science and Technology-Technology Application and Promotion Institute) and the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO). DMS
