NCR mayors decide to impose 8 pm to 5 am curfew
August 19, 2020
Mayors in the National Capital Region ( NCR) have decided to impose an 8 pm to 5 am curfew as part of the government's recalibrated general community curfew as it seeks to bring the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) under control.
''I understand that the mayors voted and there was a majority that the curfew hours should be 8 pm to 5 am,'' said Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque in an interview at CNN Philippines Wednesday.
Roque did not say when the 8 pm to 5 am curfew will take effect.
The NCR has been the main source of daily COVID-cases.
Roque said there was a meeting of the National Task Force Tuesday night where some measures were agreed upon.
These included that mass gatherings will be limited to 10, including religious gatherings; gyms, review centers, tutorials and internet cafes will be closed and couples living in the same house will no longer be required to have a barrier if they commute through motorcycle. DMS
