NCRPO achieved ”zero backlog” in administrative cases for 2019
January 3, 2020
The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) on Friday said they achieved “zero backlog” in their administrative cases by the end of 2019.
"We were able to resolve all our backlog cases from 2019 down,” said Police Brigadier General Debold Sinas, the acting NCRPO director, in a press briefing in Quezon City.
“This is an accomplishment because it started around 2000 plus then it (was) reduced and then the last one, almost 1,800 or 1,900 was resolved this year," he added.
Sinas said he signed all resolutions and decisions.
Based on data presented by Police Colonel Maria Leonora Camarao, head of Personnel and Records Management Division, the NCRPO has a total of 3, 993 administrative cases and 697 motions for reconsideration backlogs since 1999 to 2019.
"That is the reason for the closing of December 31, 2019 that we don’t have pending cases… We almost finished 4,000 plus of pending cases for 2019," Camarao said.
"What comes next for the MRs, it will be given to the respondents and complainant and implementing orders will be issued," she added.
For the administrative cases, Camarao said there will be a time for the respondents to file their respective motions before implementing orders will be issued.
She said Sinas simplified the disposition of the admin cases and MRs by assigning specific personnel to handle it.
Only the regional director or disciplinary authority will decide if there is a need for a legal opinion so it does not need to pass through the command group and the legal office.
“This is the simplification of our administrative proceedings so that we can immediately finish our admin cases,” Camarao said. Ella Dionisio/DMS
