The chief of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) on Monday appealed for the public’s understanding and cooperation as they implement community quarantine following the directive of President Rodrigo Duterte to curb the spread of the coronavirus disease ( COVID-19) in the region.
Police Major General Debold Sinas inspected the deployment of NCRPO personnel in community quarantine control points in the boundaries of Metro Manila.
Among the areas he went to were Caloocan City Police Station, Bahay Pari, Bankers Village 1, Caloocan, Meycawayan Boundary and Quirino Hi-Way Corner Malaria Road, Caloocan, San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan Boundary.
“Please bear with us. I request everyone to please, as much as possible, refrain from loitering outside. We must all be vigilant and cooperative to hurdle through this crisis together,” Sinas said.
Sinas advised people to stay at home as much as possible and to always observe and practice personal preventive measures such as proper hand hygiene, social distancing, and cough etiquette to prevent further spread of the virus.
“We cannot do this alone. Please, for your own good and safety, stay at home,” he added.”
On Sunday, Sinas said around 2,000 cops from the regional mobile force battalion were deployed in around 65 checkpoints and chokepoints in Metro Manila. Ella Dionisio/DMS
