NCRPO releases memo to personnel after officer dies of dengue

The National Capital Region Police Office- Health Service released a memorandum to all their personnel after a police officer died due to dengue fever, NCRPO chief Police Major General Debold Sinas said on Friday.
“Our health service issued a medical health advisory to all our personnel to be very careful on dengue fever and issued directive on how to prevent acquiring dengue,” Sinas said in a press briefing.
Sinas said Police Lieutenant Alioden Magonday died last February 20 around 2:30 am while being treated at the Asian Hospital for dengue fever secondary to severe pneumonia.
“Reportedly, this is the second time he had dengue,” he said.
Magonday is a newly-appointed police commissioned officer who is undergoing field training oprogram at Southern Police District.
"His effort towards public service is highly recognized. NCRPO mourns with his family in deep sympathy for losing a valued comrade in police service,” Sinas said in a statement.
"We lost an honorable man. May his death serve as a reminder to everyone that we are also human beings susceptible to diseases like this. Let us be vigilant of our surroundings and always be mindful of our safety as we perform our mandate at law enforcers," he added.
Sinas said Mangonday will be given a proper burial ceremony at the Blue Mosque, Taguig City. Ella Dionisio/DMS
