The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) on Wednesday said they confiscated more than P126 million worth of illegal drugs under its acting regional director, Police Brigadier General Debold Sinas.
Based on their record, a total of P 126,176,277.84 worth of illegal drugs were confiscated in anti-drug operations from October 16 to December 17 that led to the arrest of various suspects and their cohorts.
Of the total seizure, 17,913.76 kilos of shabu were taken off the streets, along with other drugs including 33,160.17 grams of marijuana worth P 3,979,220.04; 70.11 grams of cocaine worth P 371,583.00 and ecstasy worth P 11,900.00
Sinas, in a statement, said the NCRPO’s war on drugs has consistently gained ground against drug personalities, drug lords and their coddlers as the fight continues through the anti-illegal drug operations.
“War on drugs remains to be under my keen watch as we heed the call of our PNP Officer-In-Charge, Police Lieutenant General Archie Francisco Gamboa of pursuing a drug-free country and also a drug-resistant society,” he said.
The NCRPO has arrested high value target drug personalities and filed appropriate cases against them.
“We aim to eradicate the proliferation of illegal drugs by strengthening and revitalizing units involved in law enforcement, improving the response time and providing a more reliable forensic investigation of crime incidents while focusing more on high value target and pushers,” Sinas said.
In his earlier briefings, the acting regional director urged his men to go after so-called “big fish” instead of small-time drug pushers.
Sinas replaced Lieutenant General Guillermo Eleazar last October after he was promoted as the chief of directorial staff. Ella Dionisio/DMS
