NDRRMC official Jalad goes on self-quarantine

National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) Undersecretary Ricardo Jalad placed himself under home quarantine after the chief of staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) was found positive for 2019 coronavirus disease.
"Due to his exposure last Saturday and Monday to a person found to be COVID-19 positive today, USec Ricardo Jalad will go on home quarantine for a period of 14 days," the NDRRMC said
"Usec Jalad is considered a PUM (person under monitoring) and is not feeling any symptoms related to the virus," it added.
According to the NDRRMC, Jalad had close contact with Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff Felimon Santos Jr. during the arrival of donations from China on weekend and during the meeting with Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana last Monday.
Earlier Friday, Lorenzana also went on self-quarantine after he announced that Santos was tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. Robina Asido/DMS
