NDRRMC to support task force in fight vs novel coronavirus

The National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC), in an emergency council meeting on Friday, expressed its support to the Inter-Agency Task Force for the management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID).
NDRRMC chairperseon and Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana ordered all NDRRMC Response Clusters to collaborate with their counterparts at national and local levels and work closely with the Department of Health (DOH).
“Let us support the efforts of the IATF-EID. We need to have a unified response to identify, track, control, and prevent the rise of nCoV ARD (novel coronavirus acute respiratory disease) cases in our country,” Lorenzana said.
Assistance on information dissemination campaigns, risk communication plans, conduct of contact tracing and field validation, repatriation operations of Filipinos, coordination withlLocal government units and partners, mobilization of logistics and conduct of bio-chemical interventions, management of quarantine areas, and other tasks that may directed by the health cluster, executivedDirector, and chairperson of the council to ensure an effective, efficient, timely, and well-coordinated response will be extended by the council.
It also assured the participation of local disaster risk reduction management councils in contolling risks of further infection or outbreak. Cristina Eloisa Baclig/DMS
