Nearly 5,000 persons affected by monsoon in three Mindanao regions

A southwest monsoon enhanced by Tropical Depression ''Marilyn'' has displaced more than a thousand families as of Monday night.
the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said Tuesday it recorded a total of 1,726 families or 8,412 people affected within the 25 barangays in Western Mindanao, Southern Mindanao and Central Mindanao.
The report said 1,137 families or 5,472 persons were being served inside ten evacuation centers.
It also shows that in Central Mindanao a total of 36 houses were damaged, of which 16 were destroyed and 20 were partially damaged due to winds and waves. Robina Asido/DMS
