New COVID-19 cases below 3,000 for third day

The Department of Health (DOH) reported that new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases fell below 3,000 for the third day on Thursday.
It said there were 2,180 new cases, bringing total cases to 296,755. Active cases reached 59,700 of which 86.6 percent are mild. Asymptomatic cases accounted for 9.2 percent followed by critical with 2.9 percent and severe 1.3 percent.
Thirty-six persons died from COVID-19 which raised total fatalities to 5,127, the DOH said.
The DOH said 580 patients overcame COVID-19, putting total recoveries at 231,928. DMS
