The newly installed head of the Northern Luzon Command (Nolcom) of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has received his third star in a ceremony in Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City on Tuesday.
AFP Chief of Staff General Benjamin Madrigal led the donning of rank to Nolcom commander, Lieutenant General Ramiro Manuel Rey, who assumed his new post on July 5 in a ceremony at Nolcom headquarters Camp Aquino in San Miguel, Tarlac City.
“The great years of experience and laudable achievements of Lt. Gen. Rey to include his stint during the Marawi incident have propelled him to assume position of greater responsibility in Northern Luzon,” Major Ericson Bulosan, Nolcom spokesman said.
“Over the years, he received various medals, badges, and commendations from both the civilian and military sectors for the years he spent serving the nation and the Filipino people,” he noted.
“His repertoire as an outstanding leader, his strong advocacy for peace and development, and his dedication to the service will surely spur Nolcom to stay true to its mandate of advancing peace and development in Northern and Central Luzon, fighting for the people’s rights against security threats, and protecting the sovereign territory in the Northern borders of our country,” he added.
