Officer, three others, injured in clash with Abu Sayyaf

ZAMBOANGA CITY - Four soldiers, including an officer, were wounded in a clash against the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) in Sulu, a military official said Tuesday.
Lt. Gen. Arnel Dela Vega, Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom) chief, said the firefight happened around 1:40 p.m. Monday in Sitio kan Apo Aluk, Barangay Panglayahan, Patikul, Sulu.
Dela Vega said the troops were conducting operation when they clash withed some 50 Abu Sayyaf bandits led by Radullan Sahiron, their senior leader.
He did not identify the injured officer and three enlisted men except that they belong to the Army’s 32nd Infantry Battalion, which is under the Joint Task Force Sulu.
He said the four were rushed to the Kuta Heneral Teodulfo Bautista Station Hospital.
He said the Abu Sayyaf bandits have suffered casualties based on “human intelligence.” DMS
