One dead as motorboat capsizes in Leyte: NDRRMC

A motorboat capsized off Leyte province on Monday, killing one passenger.
Lorelai Bendijo, public affairs office chief of the Office Civil Defense (OCD), said based on the initial report received by the operation center of National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) a colorum motorboat marked "Ruel" capsized in the vicinity of Limasawa Island, Southern Leyte.
Bendijo said the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Philippine National Police (PNP), and Limasawa Emergency Rescue Team responded.
A total of 15 persons, including 13 passengers, the boat operator and one crew were rescued.
A passenger identified as Adelaida Araneta Palero was declared dead on arrival at Rural Health Unit in Limasawa Island were the victims were rushed after they were rescued. Robina Asido/DMS
