One kilo of cocaine worth P5.3 million recovered in Basilan

A kilo of cocaine estimated at P5.3 million was recovered by a fisherman in Basilan Monday morning, according to the Philippine National Police ( PNP).
A report from the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao regional police office said the concerned fisherman reported that he picked up a rectangular brick covered with plastic cellophane floating in Barangay Langil, Hadji Mohammad Ajul in Basilan around 8 am.
Authorities went to the fisherman and recovered the suspected cocaine.
The brick was brought to Basilan Provincial Police Office and turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) for proper disposition. Ella Dionisio/DMS
