One reported dead in Northern Samar from “Samuel”

One died in Northern Samar while thousands were evacuated due to tropical depression "Samuel," a report said Thursday.
The Northern Samar Provincial Risk Reduction Management Office said Ronel Quibal, 23, of Barangay Magsaysay in Palapag was found dead Tuesday afternoon. He was swept away by floods in the area.
Flooding was also reported in portions of Palawan, including the Cuyo islands.
Tropical depression "Samuel" slightly intensified as it moves toward West Philippine Sea, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
"Samuel" was last seen 240 kilometers west-northwest of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan moving west at 30 kilometers per hour.
It has maximum winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center and gusts of up to 65 kilometers per hour.
All tropical cyclone warning signals have been lifted but small sea crafts are still advised not to venture out over the northern and western seaboards of Luzon. DMS
