PAF deploys air assets to assist quake victims

The Philipine Air Force (PAF) deployed its air assets to provide assistance to areas hit by a magnitude 6.6 earthquake last Tuesday.
Major Aristides Galang, Philippine Air Force spokesman, said Wednesday a C-130 aircraft transported relief goods for quake-affected population in Central Mindanao.
Galang said the C-130 was loaded with a total of 500 family food packs, 500 sleeping kits, 500 laminating sacks, and 50 family tents from the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
He said the relief goods were airlifted from Colonel Jesus Villamor Air Base, Pasay City to Tambler, General Santos City Wednesday.
Galang said the PAF's AW-109 helicopter, with local disaster risk reduction and management officials, conducted rapid damage assessment and needs analysis over Tulunan. Robina Asido/DMS
