Pagasa lifts signal number one over Masbate, Biliran, Leyte as “Samuel” heads to Iloilo

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 1 which was raised over Masbate including Ticao Island, Biliran and Leyte due to Tropical Depression "Samuel" has been lifted.
According to Pagasa's 11 am bulletin Wednesday, "Samuel" made landfall over Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo and is heading west southwest at 40 kilometers per hour.
"Samuel" was last seen in the vicinity of Leganes, Iloilo with maximum winds of up to 45 kilometers per hour and gusts up to 65 kilometers per hour.
But signal number one remained over Romblon, southern portions of Mindoro provinces, Palawan including the Calamian and Cuyo group of islands, northern parts of Cebu and Negros Occidental, Guimaras , Iloilo, Capiz, Aklan and Antique.
Moderate to heavy rains which may cause landslides and floods are still expected over Mimaropa, Calabarzon, Western Visayas, Aurora, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur and Catanduanes.
"Samuel" made landfall five times since Tuesday over Borongan City in Eastern Samar, Daram in Samar province, Biliran, Leyte, and Iloilo.
Pagasa's forecast showed that it will head towards Puerto Princesa City, Palawan by 10 am Thursday. It is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) around Thursday evening to Friday morning. DMS
