PAL flight for Manila returns to Los Angeles after engine trouble, passengers safe

A Philippine Airlines flight with 347 passengers and 18 crew bound for Manila returned for an emergency landing after the plane encountered engine trouble minutes after take-off at Los Angeles Airport (LAX) on Friday.
In a statement, PAL spokesperson Cielo Villaluna said PR 113 left about approximately 11:12 am local time to Manila, landed safely at LAX after experiencing an engine trouble shortly after take-off.
Villaluna said that all 347 passengers and 18 crew members are safe and were able to disembark from the airplane using regular airstairs.
PAL operation teams are assisting the passengers and will provide medical support as needed, although there are no reports of injuries.
Villaluna said the plane's captain, Tristan Simeon, steered the plane at LAX at 12 noon local time.
