Palace alarmed over “lambanog” poisoning in Laguna, Quezon

Malacañang expressed alarm on Monday over the reported cases of lambanog "poisoning" in Laguna and Quezon.
In a statement, Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo reminded the public to consume goods approved by the Food and Drug Administration.
"We remind the public that they should always check whether their alcohol purchases, or any product that they consume for that matter, have been registered or approved by the Food and Drug Administration," he said.
"Prudence dictates that we should always be mindful of what we ingest, particularly during this is time of merrymaking," Panelo added.
Some 11 individuals died and over 100 others were hospitalized in Laguna and Quezon after drinking lambanog, a local liquor, in various parties on Sunday. Celerina Monte/DMS
