Malacanang condemned on Friday the death of a freshman law student of the University of Santo Tomas allegedly due to hazing.
In a press briefing, Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella said the concerned government agencies are now conducting an investigation on the death of Horacio Castillo III.
"We strongly condemn the senseless killing of Horacio Castillo III," he said.
John Paul Solano, who surrendered before Senator Panfilo Lacson Jr and Manila police officials Friday afternoon, was the one who brought Castillo to Chinese General Hospital on September 17. Castillo was declared dead on arrival.
Castillo was allegedly a victim of hazing when he tried to be a member of the Aegis Juris fraternity. Celerina Monte/DMS
