Palace credits entire Cabinet for Duterte’s high rating

Malacanang credited on Monday the entire Cabinet and the different agencies for President Rodrigo Duterte's high performance rating. In a press briefing, Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella said it was  "pleasant news" that Duterte received 82 percent performance rating based on the latest Pulse Asia survey. "At the end of the day, he will not claim it for himself. He will give due credit to his Cabinet and to the participation of all agencies," he said. According to Pulse Asia, most Filipinos remain appreciative of the performance of Duterte at 82 percent compared to Vice President Leni Robredo's  61 percent and Senate President Aquilino Pimentel III's 62 percent. Duterte’s performance rating in Mindanao surged to 95 percent from 88 percent despite declaring martial law  on May 23 due to the attack by the Maute-Abu Sayyaf Group in Marawi City. His trust rating in Mindanao climbed to 97 percent from 90 percent in March. The President's performance ratings in other locations were high. In the National Capital Region, it was at 80 percent; Balance Luzon, 75 percent; and Visayas, 84 percent. Based on socio-economic groupings, Duterte's ratings were 79 percent from Classes A, B and C; 82 percent from Class D; and 84 percent from Class E. (Celerina Monte/DMS)
