Palace set to transmit this week draft BBL to Congress

Malacanang is set to submit to Congress this week the proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law, an official said on Monday.
Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella said the Presidential Legislative Liaison Office will officially transmit the draft BBL to Congress this week.
The draft BBL was prepared by the Moro Islamic Liberation Front-led Bangsamoro Transition Commission and submitted to President Rodrigo Duterte on July 17 in a ceremony in Malacanang.
While the MILF has its own draft, former president and now Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has her own version of the bill.
"We leave it to Congress to act on the matter with dispatch including consolidating the Palace version with House Bill 6121 filed by Representative Gloria Arroyo," Abella said.
Duterte earlier said he would certify as urgent the passage of the proposed BBL. Celerina Monte/DMS
