Palace welcomes “good” rating for Cabinet despite slight fall

October 18, 2017

Malacanang welcomed on Wednesday the "good" rating of President Rodrigo Duterte's Cabinet despite a slight drop.

In a statement, Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella said the September survey of the Social Weather Stations was the third consecutive "good" assessment given by the people to Duterte's official family.

"We assure our people that the members of the PRRD’s (Duterte) Cabinet continue to work hard to bring comfortable life to all Filipinos, mindful of the President’s words that they have to serve the country with competence, efficiency, integrity and compassion," he said.

He stressed that the Cabinet members are committed to bring the administration close to the people with "more efficient delivery of government services. The Filipino people deserve no less."

The SWS survey conducted on September 23-27 showed a two percentage point drop in the Cabinet's net satisfaction rating to +32 from +34 in June this year.

About 49 percent of the respondents expressed satisfaction with the Cabinet as a whole as against 17 percent who were dissatisfied, while 31 percent were undecided.  Celerina Monte/DMS
