Paredes to be next Air Force chief

Major Gen. Allen Paredes will be the next commanding general of the Philippine Air Force ( PAF).
The designation of Paredes will take effect on Janaury 17.
In an advisory, the Philippine Air Force said the change of command and the retirement ceremony will be led by President Rodrigo Duterte.
Paredes will replace Lt. Gen. Rozzano Briguez who will reach his mandatory retirement age of 56 Friday.
The ceremony is scheduled to be held at the PAF Multi-Purpose Gymnasium at the Villamor Air Base on Thursday afternoon.
Briguez said Paredes who "originated from the 15th Strike Wing during his younger days" is a graduate of Philippine Military Academy (PMA) class of 1988.
"He (Paredes) was a former Wing Commander of the 250th Presidential Airlift Wing, the Chief of Air Staff PAF and Commander Air Logistics Command before his appointment as the incoming CGPAF," he said. Robina Asido/DMS
