Pasig court sentenced brother of Abu Sayyaf co-founder to reculsion perpetua for 2000 Basilan kidnapping

The Pasig City Regional Trial Court on Thursday sentenced the younger brother of Abu Sayyaf co-founder Khadaffy Janjalani to reculsion perpetua after he was found guilty of 18 counts of kidnapping and serious illegal detention of students and teachers in Basilan in March 2000.
In a 391-page decision, Judge Florian Gregory Abalajon of Pasig City RTC, Branch 261, said Hector Janjalani will not have the benefit of parole. Abalajon made the promulgation inside New Bilibid Prison, where Janjalani is confined.
Janjalani's co-accused Daud Baru was found guilty of 52 counts of the same offense.
Earlier, the Pasig court convicted 66 other members of the Abu Sayyaf Group. DMS
