PCG rescues eight cops, boat operator in Tanza, Cavite

Eight policemen and a boat operator were rescued after their vessel stalled and submerged off the waters of Cavite on Monday night.
The Philippine Coast Guard ( PCG) said Tuesday their personnel assigned in Cavite assisted the rescue for nine persons on the distressed motorbanca "MB Neslyn" located at 5.62 nautical miles southeast off Tanza, Cavite around 7:41 pm.
Based on initial report, the motorbanca encountered engine trouble and became half submerged one hour before the search and rescue (SAR) operation started.
The PCG said the rescued policemen were Staff Sergeant Harry Narial, 43, Staff Sergeant Andrei Abesamis, 37, Staff Sergeant Ma. Suzette Bayag-o, 31, Corporal Marry Jane Basilan, 38, Corporal Naty Edas, 33, Patrolwoman Nurina Asdi, 37, Patrolman Laurence Palomino, 34 and Patrolman Glen Ibasko, 32.
They are assigned at the Cavite Tourist Police Station.
The PCG said also rescued was Ramon Subay, 43, the boat operator who is a resident of Tanza.
"They (rescued individuals) were all in good physical condition when they arrived at the nearest shoreline for further assistance," the PCG said. Robina Asido/DMS
