PCG rescues three passengers of yacht in Batanes

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) rescued three passengers, two of whom were Canadians, of a troubled yacht off Batanes on Sunday.
In a report, the PCG said rescued were Douglas Rutherford, 60, Carson Chanthywong, 34, both Canadians and Emmanuel Domingo, 37, Filipino.
The PCG said the victims were on a diving venture when the incident happened off the waters of Basco, Batanes around 2:20 pm.
"The yacht encountered big waves while preparing for a diving venture at the vicinity (of) waters off Basco, Batanes," the PCG stated.
According to the PCG the rescued individuals "have been declared in good physical condition when they were brought at the Sanctuary Area in Basco, Batanes for further assistance". Robina Asido/DMS
