PDEA head Aquino denies he is protector of Yang
April 9, 2019
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency ( PDEA) Director General Aaron Aquino on Monday denied the claim of former police officer Eduardo Acierto he is the protector of President Rodrigo Duterte's former adviser Michael Yang.
"Acierto’s claim that I am a protector of Michael Yang is a blatant lie. His accusation is completely baseless. I may say that this is the work of a desperate man," Aquino said in a statement.
He questioned the allegations as the PDEA is still investigating Michael Yang since Acierto informed him.
Aquino said his regional directors are gathering data about the Chinese businessman.
"I am clean. My conscience is clean. And I can appear in any avenues to clear my name on this matter," he said.
The PDEA chief said he is also open to any investigation from other law enforcement agencies and investigating bodies. Ella Dionisio/DMS
