Person arrested for illegal possession of firearms in Negros Oriental

A person was nabbed on Saturday due to illegal possession of firearms in Negros Oriental, which police placed under red alert status after a series of shooting incidents.
Chief Master Sergeant Edilberto Euraoba III, Negros Oriental provincial police spokesperson, said the suspect identified as Juan Blanco Campanya was arrested during a checkpoint at the national highway in Barangay Mabnigo, Canlaon City.
Police said around 10:15 am, they flagged down the suspects and discovered one .22 caliber revolver without serial number and markings, one live ammunition of .22 revolver, one body bag, and a motorcycle without a plate number.
