China on Wednesday said it is donating 100,000 test kits and other medical supplies to help the Philippines fight against the coronavirus disease, which has infected 202 and killed 17 across the country.
"The assistance includes 100,000 test kits, 100,000 surgical masks, 10,000 N95 masks, and 10,000 sets of personal protective equipment," China said in a statement issued through its embassy in Manila.
Chinese officials are coordinating with the Department of Health to ensure these will be turned over immediately, it added.
"The Chinese people stands ready to help their Philippine brothers and sisters to go through this difficult time," the embassy said.
President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday has placed the Philippines under state of calamity amid the rapid increase of virus cases. DMS
