Phivolcs raises intensity in Lubao and Guagua to seven

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) raised on Tuesday the intensity felt in Pampanga into intensity VII caused by a 6.1 magnitude earthquake which hit parts of Luzon Monday.

Phivolcs reported an intensity VII in Lubao and Guagua in Pampanga.

Intensity VI was felt in San Marcelino and Subic, Zambales; Floridablanca, and Porac, Pampanga; Angeles City and Olongapo City.

Intensity V was experienced in Castillejos, Iba, and San Felipe, Zambales; Magalang, Mexico, Candaba, and San Fernando, Pampanga; Abucay, Balanga, and Mariveles, Bataan; Malolos, Calumpit and Obando, Bulacan; Indang, Cavite; Sto. Domingo, Nueva Ecija; Lipa City; Makati City; Mandaluyong City; Manila City; Quezon City; Pasay City; San Juan City; Taguig City; Tarlac City and Valenzuela City.

Intensity IV was recorded in Meycauayan, Plaridel, and San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan; San Rafael, Tarlac; Rosales and Villasis, Pangasinan; Itogon, and La Trinidad, Benguet; Kasibu, Nueva Vizcaya; Gabaldon, Nueva Ecija; San Mateo and Rodriguez, Rizal; Bacoor, Imus, and Maragondon, Cavite; Nasugbu, Batangas; Antipolo City; Baguio City; Caloocan City; Las Piñas City; Marikina City; Pasig City; Parañaque City and Tagaytay City.

In a press briefing, Phivolcs said they recorded 495 aftershocks in Zambales, the epicenter of Monday's earthquake

Phivolcs added that as of 3 pm, there were 21 aftershocks due to a 6.5 tremor which hit Samar and the Visayas area Tuesday afternoon.
