PN delegates pay courtesy call to Oman Navy chief

Philippine Navy delegates paid a courtesy call to the Chief, Royal Navy Oman, represented by the Head of the Maritime Security Centre, Commodore Mansoor Mohammed Mansoor Al Kharusi on Sunday.
Lt. Commander Maria Christina Roxas, acting public affairs director of the Philippine Navy, said these were from BRP Ramon Alcaraz and BRP Davao Del Sur, which is headed by Naval Task Force 82 commander Col. Noel Beleran.
"Commo. Mansoor along with his staff, warmly received Col. Beleran and party here at the Collector High Camp, SEEB, Oman," she said.
"The Philippine Navy delegates were briefed on the tasks and roles of the maritime centre to include on its maritime operations particularly on search and rescue operations and marine environment protection," she added.
Roxas said the "courtesy call is a time-honored military tradition in which a foreign or local military officer pays a visit out of courtesy to a military chief."
The two Philippine Navy vessels arrived at Sultan Qaboos Port in Muscat, Oman on February 5.
The Philippine Navy delegates were deployed to Middle East to help in the repatriation of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) affected by the tensions in the Middle East. Robina Asido/DMS
