PNP awards eight wounded cops in Lanao Del Sur

The Philippine National Police ( PNP) Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) awarded eight policemen wounded while serving an arrest warrant on murder suspects in Madamba, Lanao Del Sur last Thursday.
Police Brigadier General Graciano Mijares, the ARMM regional director. on the same day visited and awarded the officers at the Amai Pakpak Medical Center in Lanao del Sur for their gallantry.
The Medalya ng Sugatang Magiting (PNP Wounded Personnel Medal) was given to Police Captain Glen Lyca Gevero, Police Captain Mark Harry Boglosa, Police Senior Master Sergeant Marlon Panitan, Police Staff Sergeant Magno Olete, Police Staff Sergeant Nino Cadano, Police Corporal Ronald Rosco, Police Corporal Omar Masakal and Patrolman Arnel Montallana.
The PNP said they showed ''extraordinary performance of their duties, dedication and competence in law enforcement that resulted in the neutralization of four wanted persons and recovery of three high-powered firearms and several rounds of ammunition.''
Mijares also gave cash assistance to them.
He ordered all police personnel in the region to be on heightened alert and to initiate appropriate security measures to prevent similar incidents from occurring. Ella Dionisio/DMS
