PNP conducts surprise drug test for officers
February 6, 2020
Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Archie Francisco Gamboa on Thursday led an on-the-spot drug test in Camp Crame.
In a statement, PNP said a total of 66 police star-rank officers underwent drug tests.
"This drug testing not only determines the fitness of PNP Commanders to stay in their posts. But more importantly, manifests the sincerity of the PNP to cleanse its own ranks according to the desire of President Rodrigo Duterte," Gamboa said.
The surprise drug test highlighted their command conference among members of the Command Group, Directorial Staff, Regional and National Support Unit Directors.
The drug testing was administered by the PNP Crime Laboratory and results will be known on Friday. Ella Dionisio/DMS
