PNP did not give any info on oust Duterte matrix: Albayalde
May 9, 2019
The Philippine National Police ( PNP) said they did not contribute any information on the latest oust Duterte matrix against the president.
In a TV interview Wednesday, Police General Oscar Albayalde said “What we gave the president is a report, way back since 2016. So ours is on the profile of (Peter Joemel) Advincula not on the matrix.”
He reiterated that Advincula, who is the self-confessed “Bikoy” can only face cyberlibel charges if someone will file a complaint against him.
“(Elizalde Co) is inclined in filing a complaint against him, we just have to get his confirmation. Other than that, without the existence of warrant of arrest, we cannot arrest him,” said Albayalde.
Co, a businessman, was mentioned by Advincula as a member of the Quadrangle Syndicate said to be linked to illegal drugs.
In a press briefing on Thursday, PNP spokesperson Colonel Bernard Banac said they continue to monitor Advincula so it will be easy for them to arrest him once the court release a warrant.
Banac said they are still validating information on persons behind the “Bikoy” videos that’s why their report is not included in the latest matrix.
“We need to validate and build up a case, (also) gather evidence that’s why we were not able to contribute on the latest matrix,” he said.
“If there will be changes, we will let the Palace announce it,” he added. Ella Dionisio/DMS
